SCHOOL UNIFORM CODE
It is a proven fact that uniforms affect behavior in a positive way, eliminate competition, save money, install pride (if worn properly) and give one a sense of belonging.

ALL children, in grades 1-6, are expected to be dressed in the proper uniform each day of the school year. Complete uniform is TO BE WORN TO AND FROM SCHOOL unless specific permission is granted. If there is any violation of the uniform code, parents will be notified.
St. Rita School SAC holds a Used Uniform Sale in August and one other time during the school year. They offer gently used items for very reasonable prices. Both regular and gym items are available at the sale. New uniforms may ONLY be purchased from Passantion's and Stitchworks.
GIRLS - GRADE 1 through 6:
* Regulation plaid jumper
* Navy blue uniform pants or skorts from Passantinos or Stitchworks
* Navy blue dress shorts which can only be worn during Sept.,Oct.,May, June (from Passantinos or Stitchworks ONLY) If shorts purchased in September are too small or too short in May they should not be worn.
* Plain white or blue tailored blouse with embroidered Peter Pan collar (long or short sleeved).
* White embroidered turtle neck is appropriate in winter.
* Navy or white knee socks, tights or bobby socks with a folded cuff (no golf socks). Socks must cover the ankles.
* Plain navy blue embroidered sweater - pullover or cardigan - no oversize or shaker knit sweaters.
* NO makeup is to be worn.
* White embroidered polo shirt (worn tucked in and only with shorts).
BOYS - GRADE 1 THROUGH 6:
* Regulation light blue embroidered polo shirt (Passantino, or Stitchworks) - shirts must be tucked neatly in pants. Shirts may be long or short sleeved.
* Plain navy blue or black corduroy or dress pants (no cargo pants, elastic at ankle or baggy pants).
* Navy blue dress shorts which can onlybe worn during Sept., Oct., May, June(from Passantinos or Stitchworks ONLY) worn with light blue polo shirt tucked in.
*Plain navy blue embroidered sweater(pullover or cardigan) or blue embroidered sweater vest (no oversize or shaker knit sweaters).
* Black, navy or white socks (no golf/tennis socks). Socks must cover the ankles.
BELTS:
* A belt needs to be worn with pants and shorts. A black or blue belt is encouraged.
SHOES:
* Rubber soled low heeled (please this is a safety issue) solid dress shoe (tie or loafer style) to be worn with the dress uniform including the dress shorts.
* Plain LOW TOP sneaker, solid black or white - to be worn only on gym days.
* Shoes and sneakers should not make marks to protect our gym floor and school hallway.
* Shoes and sneakers that follow the code have been found at Payless, Famous Footwear, Pennys, Sears, WalMart and Target. Don't forget to stop at outlet stores when traveling.
GYM UNIFORM:
This uniform is the school uniform on your child's gym days.
* Grey monogrammed sweatshirt (winter), gold screen print T shirt. Only a St. Rita logo is permitted on gym uniforms. PLEASE, NO ST. RITA'S TIGER SHIRTS (they are for sports events).
* Solid black screen print sweat pants (winter) or solid screen print black cotton, long loose fitting shorts (September, October, May and June)
* Plain low top sneakers - solid black or white. (we appreciate all your efforts to respect this uniform requirement)
* St. Rita sweatshirts may be worn only on gym days. (not with dress uniform).
The gym uniforms MUST be purchased at Stitchworks or Passantino's
MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION:
No jewelry (this includes, plastic chokers, chains, and ankle or wrist bracelets) is to be worn. Boy's hair styles must be neatly trimmed and appropriate length and should not touch the collar of their shirt. No unusual hair styles (includes bleached, colored, tinted, highlighted etc. ) are allowed as they are distracting to the learning process. Only navy, black or school plaid headbands are allowed.
Only stud earrings are acceptable on the girls. Other earrings are dangerous at lunchtime play and in gym class. No earrings on the boys in school or at school functions.
