Activity Center

Our Philosophy

Your child is our true concern.  We strive to meet each child’s needs.  We provide a supervised, structured, educational and relaxed atmosphere for each child.  Our program provides a place where your child can prepare for the day ahead and/or find a safe and secure environment to relax after the school day comes to an end.
Our Program

Our program strives to provide a balance of group and individual activities, structured and free play, active and quiet times.  Some activities we offer are art, naps/quiet time, toys, games, books, puzzles, movies and outdoor playtime.

We also offer a Homework Center for children in grades 1st through 5th.  A staff employee escorts the children with homework to a separate room after snack.  There they are supervised in a peaceful and quiet atmosphere so they can concentrate on completing their homework.

Hours

Before School   7:30-8:30
After School  3:00-5:30
Half Days   11:45-5:30
Full Days      7:30-5:30

Parents must bring their children to the Activity Center and sign them in.  Please do not drop your child off in the parking lot.

The Activity Center is closed on snow days, major holidays, including Holy Thursday and Good Friday and also during summer vacation.  Parents will need to provide alternative care for their children on these days.

The Center is open on Conference days, Superintendent’s Days and Faculty Retreat days.  Prior notice is requested on these days so that the necessary and appropriate supervision is provided.

Fees

Registration Fee: $20 Per Family

Daily Fees:

$2.50 per hour for 1 child
$4.00 per hour for 2 children
$5.00 per hour for 3 children

Each family will have an attendance sheet that will be filled out daily and totaled at the end of each week.  Payment is due that week.

Late Fees

We close at 5:30 p.m. If your child is picked up after 5:30 p.m., a $5.00 late charge per 15 minutes will be imposed.

Safety

Every child is to be brought directly to the Activity Center and not dropped off at the front doors.  Parents are to sign their child in and out of the Activity Center.  In the morning children must report directly to the classroom from the Activity Center.  After school children must report directly from the classroom to the Activity Center to be signed in.  We require that you call if your child is expected at the Activity Center but will not be attending for whatever reason.  If someone other than a parent is picking up you child, a written consent form is required.  Any child found wandering the halls after school without supervision will be placed in the Activity Center until a parent is contacted for instructions

Pre-School and Pre Kindergarten children are escorted to their classroom at 9:00 a.m.  After school they are picked up from their classroom and taken to the Activity Center by a staff member.  Children in grades K-5 go directly to their classroom at 8:30 and directly to the Activity Center at dismissal.

Snacks

Please be sure to pack a morning and afternoon snack for your child.  We do not provide snacks.  A box or container of snacks with the child’s name on it may be left in the Activity Center and replaced as needed.

Children may pack a lunch or sign up for the hot lunch program.  Hot lunches are provided Mon-Fri for $2.00 each.

Staff

Before & After School Program & Activity Center Director, Denise Creedon

The Activity Center is staffed by a Director, in addition to other paid or volunteer staff members and is under the administration of the Principal. All volunteers and paid staff members must participate in the Diocesan Child Safety Awareness program,  in addition to a background check and the
approval by the Diocese of Rochester.

The staff members work together to help each child grow in maturity and self-respect, as well as to maintain an atmosphere where respect and understanding of others is encouraged.
