We Believe That...

St. Joseph Catholic School, an educational ministry of the six Catholic Parishes of the greater Auburn area, serves the Finger Lakes Region by providing strong Christian values in the Catholic tradition and a foundation of academic excellence, which continues to serve out students and our community now and into the future.

We believe that:

  • Our faith is the center of everything we do as students, faculty, and parents.
  • Children have a right to learn in a variety of ways and with different opportunities in a happy and secure environment where they can achieve their personal goals and become life-long learners.
  • Each member of a school community should be seen as an individual and treated with respect as part of one Christian family.
  • Children deserve to learn in an environment filled with love, compassion, respect, opportunity, and creativity,
  • In a Christian environment, the whole child is formed in faith and moral character intellectually, socially, physically, and nurtured toward his/her full potential following the teachings and examples of Jesus Christ.
  • A school should provide a disciplined and stimulating learning environment with high academic expectations and and standards of behavior.
  • A school should provide a family atmosphere where children are loved and valued for who they are and challenged to become whom God intended him/her to be.
  • A school succeeds with the support of parents, parishes, and the surrounding communities.
