MOSSAC for Parents

MOSSAC

  • Name- Mother of Sorrows School Advisory Committee
  • Purpose- MOSSAC shall serve as an advisory body to the principal of MOS, supporting the school's spiritual and academic programs.  MOSSAC shall oversee social and fundraising events, the purpose of which shall be to involve parents in school activities while enhancing and enriching MOS programs.  MOSSAC shall keep school families informed about the school, as well as encourage participation through leadership and subcommittees.
  • Members- MOSSAC shall consist of the MOS principal, all parents of MOS students and the pastor of the church.

2008-2009 Executive Committee

President:    Coordinates with other members of Executive Team oversees all MOSSAC responsibilties***Lori DiMaria, chair; Vice-President (TBD)

Secretary:  Responsible for meeeting minutes and all communication for MOSSAC including the Parent-Student MOS Directory***Michael Sayers, chair; Vice Secretary (TBD)

FinanceOversees expenditures/income/budget and bank reconciliations *** Michelle Scatigno, chair; Vice Finance (TBD)

Treasurer:   Responsible for writing checks for expenditures and bank deposits.  Reports to the Finance chair. *** Linda Miller, chair; Vice Treasurer (TBD) 

Communications/Website:  Responsible for the MOSSAC portion of the MOS web site. Jim Shepard, chair; Vice Communications (TBD)

Social-Fundraising Committee x 2:  Oversees all fund raising committees to ensure events run smoothly/all correspondence to be proof read.  Mary Ellen Hart-Predmore/ Barb Leary, chair; Vice chair (TBD)

After School Clubs Coordinator:  Oversees all after school progarams to ensure events run smoothly  chair (TBD); Vice chair (TBD)  Anyone interested please contact anyone above or let Mrs. Carol Gutmann or Mrs. Jeanne Barry know.  Thank you in advance for your interest

Upcoming Events: 

**REMINDER MOSSAC MEETING TONIGHT  TUESDAY MAY12TH 7:00 IN CHURCH HALL **

 

Family Fun Night:  March 28th in church hall 6:00-9:30P.M. Food, D.J., lots of individual games and crafts to do.  A fun night for all.  Thanks Christine Scisa for coordinating this event.

Easter Candy Sale starts January 20th ** Niagara Chocolate** MOS will receive 50% profit from this sale.  ***REMINDER*** CANDY PICK-UP IS ON MONDAY MARCH 23RD IN THE MUSIC ROOM OF THE CONVENT FROM 1:00 P.M. UNTIL 6:00 P.M.  ALL MONIES DUE HAVE TO BE PAID BEFORE YOU PICK-UP YOUR ORDER.  EITHER THAT DAY OR BEFORE THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THIS FUNDRAISER.  Thanks Maureen and Jim Shepard for coordinating this event.

For the new year in Jan. the Gala will be held  at the Ridgemont Country Club on the 31st a Saturday  The gala was a big success thanks to Judy Kelly and her crew they exceeded their goal of  $6,000  and doubled it!!  

Santa's Secret Shop:  Dec. 1st thru 3rd. was held in the Library details on what the final tally was will be coming.  Still looking at all receipts total will soon be announced.

Christmas Craft Show: Sat. Dec. 6th had a very good showing again final tally will be announced soon.  This event was not as profitable as we thought it would be but there is always next year.  Over budget $15.00 

Daily Drawing is on the books again to be sold in and March and April for drawings for the month of May.
