Grade Four - Mrs. Missell

Welcome to Fourth Grade

What a great 2009/10 year we had in fourth grade.   It was busy and fun and we all learned so much about Jesus and how he expects us to treat each other.  The fourth graders learned that Mrs. Missell's favorite word is compassion and next year we even have the morning prayer duty that is dedicated to the value of compassion-I am excited about that!

I wanted to thank all the children and their parents for all of their help and cooperation over the year.  It will be a year that I will always remember well because my first grandchild, Trevor, was born in March.

Please notice the supply list that is attached and try to come in on the first day of school prepared and labeled.  It really helps to get off to an organized start.(I have to remind myself about this too)    I hope that a lot of you are like me and look forward to summer because you'll have more time to read-just for pleasure.  There is a summer reading list that is attached -and it has something for everyone to enjoy.

Parents-spend some time (casually) reviewing math concepts with your children-splitting popsicles could be a lesson in division and buying tickets at an amusement park is a lesson in subtracting money from your wallet. Also, as always, the better that a fourth grader comes in to class knowing their multiplication tables the easier their math work will be.

Children, remember all of your summer safety rules that we discussed-you are each  a very important part of our school family and we want you to have a safe and fun summer !
