ENRICHMENT
This program enriches our school curriculum and provides an ungraded project-centered learning approach. Mrs. Pioli creates a learning experience for all students who attend classes on a rotating basis. Hands-on and Multiple Intelligences activities are emphasized for all students in grades K-6.
Kindergarten Letter/Word/Number Recognition,Comprehension
First Grade Simple Sentence Construction/Basic Story Concepts
Second Grade Early Creative and Process Writing
Third Grade Intermediate Creative and Process Writing and Projects
Fourth Grade Advanced Creative and Process Writing and Projects
Fifth Grade Curriculum Related Projects
We make much use of Multiple Intelligences to help each student express freely in his or her best modes of learning.
Also, Junior Great Books are offered in grades 2 through six to discuss world literature. Teacher led discussion is used in grades 2 and 3. Higher grade students create their own thought provoking questions and games to display understanding. The goal is to discover classic, age appropriate works of literature as well as to gain public speaking techniques and critical thinking skills. Students gain confidence to express their thoughts in a creative way!
