Physical Education
The goal in Physical Education is to promote lifelong fitness. All Physical Education classes work to improve their physical fitness level. Students are given the President's fitness challenge twice a year. This helps the students see how much they change throughout the year and how they compare to other students their age. Many different sport skills are used to help improve their fitness levels. These sports are also used to promote social skills, team work, and coordination.
Sport activities that will be covered this year include soccer, flag football, basketball, floor hockey, softball, and many different team games. Cooperative games are also played to help promote decision making, cooperation, communication, trust, agility, and muscular strength/endurance. Through sport and games I hope to build a foundation that students can build on to achieve and maintain a healthy, productive, and fulfilling life.
