Reminder RE: Written Absence Excuse
With many students out sick, this is a reminder that parents are to be sending in a written excuse when your child returns, explaining why he/she was out of school. The phone call to the office in the morning does not substitute for a written excuse. Click here for the absence excuse form, which is also available in the school office. Alternately, you may write a note with the student's name, date(s) absent and reason for absence. A written excuse is a NY state regulation. If the school does not receive a written excuse, the student's absence is recorded as "unexcused" in the teacher's attendance register.
