SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
The Cathedral School at Holy Rosary consists of a unique, diverse student population. Through the Catholic tradition and teachings of Jesus Christ, our students are richly rewarded the opportunity to grow spiritually, intellectually, academically, and morally. As educators, we strive to empower our students to become life-long learners and responsible citizens in a global community. We are suported in this effort by a knowledgeable staff and the generosity of our community.
SCHOOL PROGRAM
The Cathedral School at Holy Rosary offers educational and exciting programs to all of our students.
We believe that the religious and moral formation of the children is one of our most important roles as educators. Religion is taught each day and Christian values permeate all subject areas. The children plan and assist at liturgies regularly thorughout the year.
Our highly educated and trained teachers work diligently to provide the best education in a loving and nurturing environment. State of the art technology along with innovative teaching techniques provide our students with the best possible education. Our teachers incorporate many of the most current strategies in their teaching through the use of smartboards, center activities, and meeting the needs of each child through individualized instruction.
We offer additional assistance to students through our AIS (Academic Intervention Services) program, the Rochester City School District services, and the support of teaching assistants in many of the classrooms. Highly qualified teachers also teach our music, art, physical education, technology, and library programs.
Other programs and activities available to our students include:
- Extended care programs for before and after school at a nominal cost
- Breakfast and lunch program provided through the Rochester City School District
- Full day preschool program
- After school activities including instrument and art lessons
- Busing provided by the district of residence
- Generous financial aid
