About Mrs. Sigwald Teaching is a passion that runs through my family tree. Both my mother and great aunt were teachers. I can remember correcting papers and cutting out projects for my mother’s students at a young age. Throughout high school I spent my free time volunteering in the elementary school reading lab. After obtaining my bachelor’s and master’s degree at Elmira College I started teaching fifth grade in the Elmira City School District. I found my true calling in September 1995 when I started working in the Rochester Diocese. I truly love working in Catholic school which I find “a step above” the public schools. Their combination of faith and education which encompasses the whole child is uneatable. Not only does the school offer a high level of academics but it also nurtures the emotions of a student. Through the Catholic School System I believe that I can make every child feel successful.
