Dear First Grade Family,
What a fantastic time of learning we've had this month! As we continue learning about our body, we will next study our muscles. Then we will explore a very important muscle - the heart. In Math, we are learning to skip count by 10's, 5's, and 2's. Following this area of study is the concept of greater/less, ordinal numbers, and graphing.
For reading, we have been introduced to all the short vowels. We have also been covering the sequencing of events in a story, and the use of capital letters in writing. Our small reading groups have met for 3 weeks now. How fun and exciting it is to see the growth in skills that is happening in our classroom. We're looking forward to our trip to the Planetarium to learn about the sun, moon, and stars. this could be the springboard to someone's career for NASA!
Best regards,
Mrs. Walck
