The Standards

SOCIAL STUDIES – Students will use a variety of intellectual skills to demonstrate understanding of:

1.   major ideas, eras, themes, developments, and turning points in US or   NY history.

2.   major ideas, eras, themes, developments, and turning points in world history.

3.   the geography of the interdependent world in which we live.

4.   the development of the economic systems of the US and other countries,  decisions about the economy, and scarcity problems.

5.  the necessity for governments; the government of the US and other nations; basic civic values; the roles, rights, and responsibilities of citizenship.
